The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the People and Government of Venezuela, extends his most heartfelt words of condolence to the People and Government of the Republic of Cuba for the death of Comrade Eusebio Leal Spengler, a historian from the city of Havana.
To his last breath, this dear friend of the Homeland of Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez was a tireless revolutionary whose wonderful work we, the peoples of the world, thank for giving humanity all the historical splendor of an architecture and a past restored with patience, fidelity, dignity and, above all, with great patriotic feeling.
In 1994, Comrade Eusebio carried out a historic mission for the Cuban and Bolivarian Revolutions, serving as an emissary of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, to invite Commander Hugo Chávez Frías to Cuba for the first time; thus consolidating a deep friendship between both leaders, for the benefit of the Peoples of Our Latin America and the Caribbean.
From Bolivarian Venezuela, we honor the memory of dear Comrade Eusebio Leal Spengler, who will always be remembered for his infinite love for our People; as well as for his willingness and determination to extol the legacy of the Liberating Father Simón Bolívar and Commander Hugo Chávez, the historic leader of the Bolivarian Revolution.
