Venezuela congratulates the people of India on the 74th anniversary of their Independence Day
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Bolivarian People and Government, expresses his warm congratulations on the Celebration of India’s 74th Independence Day, a day on which the Indian people, after years of great sacrifice and determination, put an end to the ignominious British domination.
Today India comes forth as one of the main powers of the emerging multipolar world, standing out for its wonderful spirituality and its thriving modernity.
Venezuela highlights the struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi, who laid the foundations of world pacifism; his unrestricted defense of the principles of sovereignty and self-determination of peoples, from the Bandung Conference and the Non-Aligned Movement to the present; as well as the beautiful concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family), which should be adopted as its own by all nations of the planet in order to overcome the serious conflicts that humanity is going through.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela renews its bond of union and fraternity with the Republic of India, reiterating its commitment to strengthening comprehensive bilateral cooperation towards the consolidation of a mutually beneficial Strategic Alliance; while continuing to work together in the defense of International Law, stability and peace, inspired by the legacy of Bolívar and Gandhi.
