Venezuela congratulates the Cuban People in the 62nd anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian Government, sends a message of admiration, love and commitment to the Cuban people and Government on the 62nd anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. On January 1st, 1959 the people of Martí put an end to the fierce dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista after an exemplary struggle of unity and courage. Women, children, the elderly, humble and brave people, worthy heirs of the Mambises, became the protagonists of their history and their future. Sixty-two years later, the shock wave of that colossal triumph still awakens the consciences of the humble people and shakes the structures of capitalism in Our America and the world. A people that for decades was subjected to oppression, dependence, illiteracy and misery, came to power to attend to its demands and social needs, with true independence and sovereignty. In a year as challenging for humanity as 2020, socialist Cuba once again gives admirable lessons in solidarity and scientific development. While the North countries show serious figures of mortality due to the pandemic, Cuba develops an efficient epidemiological control, which shows the strength of its public health model and exhibits one of the lowest levels of mortality and incidence of the virus. While the most powerful empire in history underestimates the impacts of the COVID-19 and unleashes a war for supplies and patents, Cuba deploys its medical brigades around the world, even reaching the heart of opulent Europe. While Washington gets worse the blockade against Cuba, Venezuela and other sovereign peoples, in the midst of an unprecedented health crisis, Cuba develops four vaccine candidates that it has placed, from the beginning, at the service of humanity. The Bolivarian Revolution sends this message of admiration, love and commitment to the Cuban Revolution, in tribute to Fidel, to the men and women of the Rebel Army and an embrace of solidarity to the new generations that keep the struggle alive and vibrant, with the experience and youth united in the new battles, represented in the guidance of Army General Raúl Castro and the renewed leadership of President Miguel Díaz-Canel. Cuba is respected! Yankee, don’t mess with Cuba!
