Venezuela commemorates the 73th anniversary of the passing to immortality of Mahatma Gandhi

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the people and the Bolivarian Government send a heartfelt message to the people and government of the sisterly Republic of India, 73 years after the passing to immortality of Mahatma Gandhi, whose example and legacy lives on in the hearts of the people.

Venezuela pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, as the great creator of the independence of India, as a teacher and father of the nonviolent struggle for truth, dignity and justice.

“Earth provided enough to satisfy everyone’s needs, but not everyone’s greed”, Gandhi warned, making a vibrant and moving call for solidarity and cooperation among human beings, in harmony with nature.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in the exercise of the Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, embracing the immortal legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, reiterates its commitment to continue working together with the sisterly Republic of India, for cooperation among peoples and the defense of multilateralism, for a world of fraternity, justice and peace.
