PDVSA rejects imposition of US unilateral coercive measures on the Rosneft oil company

Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) and its workers express their rejection to the coercive measures issued today, Tuesday, February 18th, 2020, by the Government of the United States against the oil company ROSNEFT, which maintains investments and legal commercia operations in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The U.S. policy of unilateral sanctions has been directed towards companies that compete in the global market, such as ROSNEFT, in an attempt to influence the price system, control or eliminate the main actors, and in consequence, exert hegemonic control of the global oil market; in other words, a kind of economic hitman that the Government of President Donald Trump exercises against oil companies that do not submit to its imperial and domination interests.

Economic discrimination and hatred, as political instruments, promoted by the Government of the U.S. towards the main oil company of the country, PDVSA, aims to destroy national economy and, therefore, affect the budget of socio-economic protection of the Venezuelan People, mainly the purchase of food, medicines and other essential items that are acquired in foreign markets.

The Working Class declares itself in active and permanent mobilization throughout the organizational structure of the national oil, gas and petrochemical industry to defend stability and the normal development of administrative and operational activities that guarantee energy security to the Venezuelan People and to firmly reject the coercive measures of the U.S. On the other hand, we express all the solidarity with the oil company ROSNEFT, which has the necessary support for operational and commercial continuity.
