The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received in his office this Tuesday the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Steven Seagal.
In the friendly meeting, Seagal presented the Head of State with a samurai sword as a symbol of leadership.
Steven Seagal has valuable experience in building bridges to strengthen cultural ties between his native country, the United States of America, and Russia.
Along these lines, in 2018, he was appointed as a special envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry for issues related to cultural relations between the Eurasian nation and the United States, in order to favor the development of ties between the two countries.
During that work, he was responsible for consolidating agreements between both nations in the humanitarian field, including the spheres of culture, art, social and youth exchanges.
His career as a musician opened the doors for him to grow as a guitarist for the blues music band Steven Seagal and the Thunderbox Seagal.
The years in which some of his works saw light were: Songs from The Crystal Cave, as his first album in 2004. In 2006, he released another album, Mojo Priest; and in his 1997 film Fire Down Below, he appears in a scene playing guitar accompanying a local country group.

To his credit he also has a career as a policeman, after studying at the California State Academy, where he obtained the certificate that accredits him as a civil servant.
The action hero who has enjoyed great popularity in Hollywood, has also served as Deputy Chief of the Volunteer Division of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, in the city of Louisiana.
Steven Seagal was born on April 10, 1951, in Lansing, Michigan. His father was Jewish and his mother of Irish descent. In his youth he moved with his family to Fullerton, California, where he began to study martial arts under the leading teacher, Fumio Demura, and aikido with Rod Kobayashi.
