The Vice-minister for Multilateral Affairs of Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry, Daniela Rodríguez, and Ombudsman Alfredo Ruiz held a meeting on Monday to strengthen joint efforts for the multilateral defense of human rights in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the guarantees to respect the human rights of the Venezuelan people.
The Venezuelan diplomat said they discussed the importance of the state’s role to defend the population and guarantee that the Venezuelan people join an international campaign to counter negative and fake news spread by news transnationals.
Rodríguez explained they also reviewed multilateral cooperation issues handled by the Ombudsman’s Office and other similar bodies in the world, as well as multilateral fora where the Ombudsman’s Office can participate.
