Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza holds meeting with ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary Sacha Llorenti Soliz
In order to review the annual agenda of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBa-TCP) and its Post-pandemic Working Plan, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza held a meeting with the new ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary Sacha Llorenti Soliz.
“We reviewed the full activation of the Councils of the Alliance, the multilateral coordination of their members and the 2021 political, social and economic activities and actions,” wrote the Venezuelan foreign minister on his Twitter account after the meeting held in the headquarters of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ALBA-TCP executive secretary pointed out that “it was a very productive meeting,” and highlighted that it served to review “the tasks for the forthcoming months.”
Executive Secretary Llorenti was appointed at the 18th ALBA-TCP Summit of Heads of State and Government, held in December on the 16th anniversary of the regional integration bloc. At this summit, the member countries agreed on a Post-pandemic Working Plan to consolidate joint cooperation, political concertation and economic recovery.
The Post-pandemic Working Plan includes the consolidation of political concertation and technical cooperation with third countries, as well as the relaunch of an ALBA-TCP Economic, Commercial and Financial Agenda. The Plan is also aimed at the social, communications, political and cultural areas.
At the 18th ALBA-TCP Summit, the heads of State and Government and chiefs of delegations called for a reactivation of their Councils starting 2021 in order to move forward with a solid agenda of actions.
The ALBA-TCP Executive Secretariat was given the responsibility for the monitoring, consulting and fulfilling of this task.
