During his participation in the XVIII Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), held this Monday in the framework of the 16th anniversary of the regional integration body, the president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, celebrated the victory of the Venezuelan people in the parliamentary elections of December 6, defeating the efforts of the United States Government to disrupt the democracy of the South American nation.
The Nicaraguan president condemned all forms of terrorism implemented by the North American empire and “dump their resources to strike a blow at the institutions of Venezuela and the Government of Nicolás Maduro.”
“I don’t see the defense of Human Rights of the United Nations, much less the Organization of American States (OAS) condemning the attack against Maduro. I don’t see governments that call themselves democratic condemning it”, he said.
The Head of State of the Central American nation described the election day in Venezuela as a great challenge, since the countries of the Lima Group, led by the United States Government, “from their own declarations have launched the most terrible threats and intensified the sanctions against the Venezuelan people and betting that those elections will not be won by the Bolivarians, and that they will not even take place.”
Europe walks the Hitler route
In his speech, President Ortega pointed out that the United States and Europe intend to establish themselves as the new kings of the world to try to subjugate the nations that decide to be free and independent.
He stressed that US imperialism attacks the peoples in the name of freedom before the complicity of European countries, which are led by fascist governments and although they show themselves as the champions of democracy, they are the first to try to impose rulers and decisions on sovereign nations.
“Europe is walking towards Hitler’s path. We see how fascist governments are emerging and gaining strength in Europe, governments allied with the Yankee empire to attack the peoples”, he emphasized.
