As part of his working agenda in Ankara, Venezuela’s Vice-minister for North America, Carlos Ron, held a bilateral meeting with Turkey’s Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Sedat Önal, and the Deputy General Director for the Americas, Levent Gümrükçü.
At the meeting, the diplomats discussed issues related to the cooperation alliance between Venezuela and Turkey, as well as Venezuela’s post electoral panorama after the parliamentary elections held on December 6.
In this regard, Ron, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, thanked for the participation and accompaniment of Turkish observers in the Venezuelan parliamentary elections.
“We also talked about COVID-19 and reiterated the two countries’ respect for international law,” added the Venezuelan diplomat.
The Republic of Turkey has been a strong ally to Venezuela in the fight against COVID-19. In recent months, Venezuela received humanitarian technical assistance from Turkey to fight coronavirus.
