Foreign Minister Arreaza congratulates Telesur on the celebration of its 15th anniversary

The information signal from Latin America and the Caribbean, the multistate news Telesur, celebrates this Friday 15 years of uninterrupted transmission. With regard to this celebration, the Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, sent his congratulations to the entire human and interdisciplinary team that works in the channel.

“We congratulate all men and women at all levels and multidisciplinary areas of the Telesur chain for these 15 years. Long live Telesur, just 15 years out of the 1,500 they must meet, to continue meeting the free peoples of this humanity.”

In the message sent, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations stressed that Telesur is an exception to the mainstream media, because it has offered another reading, “not to maintain the order of things but to subvert the order of things”, offering a Latin American vision of the facts, transmitting the truth of the people and information omitted by other networks.

“How important Telesur has been during these years! We have seen international interventions, wars, we have witnessed how free peoples have fought, how they have resisted, also suffered setbacks, but they are always marching forward and that reading is only offered by Telesur”, he exclaimed.

Telesur aired for the first time in 2005 from the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas. Its advisory council was made up of notable figures such as the Nobel Peace Prize, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel and the journalist Ignacio Ramonet; the channel has been present in the great events, not only in Latin America, but in the world.
