President Maduro: ‘Venezuela clinches victory at UN Security Council’
President Nicolás Maduro described as a “great victory” for Venezuela the recent virtual session of the UN Security Council, which discussed the failed armed incursion against the country on May 3.
“In the global organizations, Venezuela is shining. The true and only Government of Venezuela, the Bolivarian Government I head”, he stressed.
Representing Venezuelan, Ambassador to the UN Samuel Moncada urged the Security Council to maintain peace and security” in the face of the warmongering policies of the Colombian and U.S. governments.
In this regard, Moncada requested the Un Security Council to recognize the acts of aggression committed against Venezuela, and “to demand the perpetrators to an immediate put end to their criminal practices.”
At the virtual session, nations, including Russia and China, rejected warmongering actions as a mechanism to seize political power and meddling in Venezuela’s domestic affairs.
Humanitarian Technical Assistance
The Venezuelan president thanked UN Secretary General António Guterres for his solidarity, and informed that a new humanitarian aid shipment will arrive in the country soon as part of the UN response against COVID-19.
“We are ready and set to receive all the humanitarian aid,” stressed President Maduro.
