Venezuela coordinates cooperation actions with International Red Cross in the face of COVID-19

Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs Jorge Arreaza held a working meeting with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in order to coordinate joint actions in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting took place at the headquarters of Venezuela’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Caracas, and was aimed at proposing concrete actions in the sanitation and health fields in order to guarantee the protection of the Venezuelan people in the face of COVID-19. These actions seek to strengthen cooperation based on international law and solidarity with countries of the world that are currently affected by this pandemic, and to continue working hand in hand with international organizations to keep the COVID-19 curve flattened in Venezuela. Noteworthily, these periodic meetings have proved a strong strategic alliance between the Bolivarian Government and the International Committee of the Red Cross based on the provision of medical-surgical supplies, medicines, and projects that boost healthcare to the Venezuelan people, affected  by the economic-financial blockade and the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government.
